The Defereggental is one of the most pristine valleys in the high mountains of Austria:

It is located in the national park Hohe Tauern and ist borded by the mountains Defereggengebirge,  Rieserfernergruppe of  Lasörlinggruppe and Schobergruppe. 

All in all there are three charming mountain villages in this valley: Hopfgarten, St. Veit and St. Jakob.
